The author of this little book, Nancy Kerson, has an awesome website for prospective adopters of wild horses, and I had hoped that the book would elaborate a bit on some of the topics covered there: more personal examples of problems solved, approaches to specific issues, etc. She's a thoughtful and articulate advocate for the adoptable wild horse, and the book is a good basic introduction to the mustang, the adoption process, and the gentling and training methods she uses. All very good, but it isn't adequate if you don't have lots of experience with horses. Actually, nothing would be - you would do best to get a good trainer to help you, as she points out. But this little book gives you an idea of what you might need to learn, and what you will probably need help with. I highly recommend it - but would love to see her write another with more detail.Product details

I didn't buy this book for myself. I bought it for my daughter who is interested in adopting a mustang. She loves this book and recommends it to her friends.
